Our foundation is built on faith in Jesus Christ. Our mission is to serve Him faithfully through this business, hand-in-hand with family and friends.
The Walden Family has a rich history of 36 years in faith, food, and family. In 2004, we started a donation-only food and fellowship in our backyard with friends and family. Over time through word of mouth, this gathering exploded and we began feeding between 400 and 450 people every other Friday night. It was time to move out of the backyard into the public and we landed on Washington Street. We are committed to doing our best to love those placed in our path, put forth quality food, and have fun while we do it. We believe God has orchestrated this season of bringing our flavor to the community and so we hope that you will come and be a part of our experience.
We would like to dedicate this venture to Kathleen Walden (Tony’s mom) and Elaine Helms (Patty’s mom) for all they contributed to our lives: a love to serve others, a love to cook, and the ability to prepare real comfort food. This is an exciting journey for our family and we thank you for partnering with us through your support.

Drive through for catfish - Scary Delicious
Ok I admit I was a little leary. You can drive through and get a catfish dinner with some cheese grits and hush puppies, or order at the window and walk across the drive to a building with several picnic tables. Unique concept and the catfish and hush puppies are really good. The restroom was clean which was a bonus. You just have to try it.
I wanted to try this restaurant because they advertised catfish whole or fillets. Stopped in for a lunch break and I found no disappointment. I fancy myself as a good catfish cooker and they have a good batter. I tried the catfish fillets which were done to perfection and they added three of the best hush puppies I have ever had. Even the shrimp that my wife ordered were fresh and cooked to perfection. As a side, I tried the baked beans and I was not sorry there. The atmosphere is quite austere and you have to order at a window when not using the drive through. After receiving your order in house, you have to walk across a parking lot to a separate building where you get to sit at a custom made picnic table but at least you are inside. It was unique in a strange way but the food is delicious and hot!
Good fish and hushpuppies
I really like fried catfish and hushpuppies. Since the best place in town for hushpuppies closed this is the best I’ve found in Covington or for that fact in the state but I’m still looking. Just a little help here. This is a take-out place to me. They have seating but it’s like getting food and going to the park to eat.
Hungry for fried fish
Ordered the fish and shrimp combo, a lot of food with fries and one side. The fried fish is light, crispy batter and golden fried. The shrimp is not small like chain restaurants. And they were sooooo good. The cole slaw has a nice dill pickle tartness goes perfect with the fried foods. And of course hush puppies these are not small sweet frozen ones like I’ve experienced at other fish establishments. These are corn meal, onion goodness. Might want to order extras you get two with your meal. And wash it all down with some sweet tea. They have desserts that are made in house. I Had the strawberry delight. Like a pie and a shortcake married. The chocolate delight is tasty as well. If you’re looking for good fried fish, shrimp and hush puppies you can’t go wrong at Walden’s and it is made to order so sit back and relax the food will be hot and good when it comes to your table. Worth the wait!
